To start, follow the Monarch’s Way from Bramber Village, climb up to the ridge to join the South Downs Way. Turn West and you’ll walk along the escarpment with stunning views of the rolling South Downs National Park and the Adur Valley.

Continue along the ridge past Steyning Round Hill, Leave the ridge and descend via marked footpaths toward Steyning or directly back to Bramber.

2. South Downs Way: Bramber to Devil’s Dyke

Distance: ~8–10 miles (linear or adapted circular)

Start: The Castle Inn → join South Downs Way

You can choose to venture out onto countryside paths if you’re desire takes you other wise head back to The Castle for a relaxing drink on the terrace.
