The Castle Inn Appears on The Hotel Inspector

A Bramber hotel gained some national exposure last week when it appeared on Channel 5’s The Hotel Inspector.

Danny Baker and Jack Visick, owners of the Castle Inn Hotel, welcomed renowned hotel guru Alex Polizzi to their 20-bedroom property last summer as part of the programme.

In the episode, Alex praised the duo’s ambition and drive but questioned the hotel’s lack of identity. She worked with them to refresh the bedrooms and to renovate the dining room to make it more appealing to both  leisure guests and locals alike.

“Taking part in The Hotel Inspector was a big moment for us. It was challenging at times, but incredibly valuable. Alex’s feedback has already helped us positive changes to the business” said Jack.

Danny commented: “Alex Polizzi helped us deliver a vision for improving the main dining room. This included removing features left by previous owners, such as artificial plants and redecorating the space to create a more welcoming dining experience.

The entrepreneurial duo took on the hotel in April 2025 and along with Alex’s recommendations, have since implemented a number of significant improvements. These include updating the communal areas, transforming the bedrooms and refining the overall guest experience.

They have also focussed on creating a family friendly and dog friendly environment so everyone feels welcome. Additionally, they have improved their wedding offering and can now host civil ceremonies on-site, so couples can celebrate their entire day in one location.

The hotel is situated in the picturesque village of Bramber, in the heart of the South Downs, just eight miles from Brighton. It’s ideally located for leisure guests and walking  breaks.

Looking ahead to the 2026 season, the team is optimistic about the future:

“While we’re always striving to improve, we feel that our hospitality is stronger than ever,” said Danny.

We’re excited to welcome guests to experience what The Castle Inn has to offer” he added.
