| The Tollgate Hotel in Bramber, near Steyning which closed in October 2025, has been acquired by local hospitality duo Jack Visick and Danny Baker. The pair, who also own The Castle Inn Hotel in Bramber, The Bull on the Green in Newick and The Berwick Inn, plan to transform the former coaching inn into a distinctive countryside destination that combines luxury and wellness.Visick and Baker are also committed to working with local suppliers and craftspeople as part of the redevelopment. |

| Plans include the addition of an outdoor wellness suite and curated sleep packages designed to enhance rest and relaxation. Jack Visick said: “The Tollgate gives us a rare opportunity to create something both indulgent and restorative. We want guests to retreat, reconnect, eat and drink beautifully, sleep deeply and leave feeling better than when they arrived. For us, wellness is about feeling good, living well and creating moments that help people repair, replenish and enjoy living life”. The hotel is currently operating at a limited level during the refurbishment but guests can enjoy dining at the proprietors nearby sister property, The Castle Inn Hotel, just a short walk away. |
